About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Road Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our operations and maintenance unit, you will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep of our road and bridge infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Undertake safe and proper operation of plant equipment, including routine maintenance, tandem tip trucks, tray trucks, backhoe loaders, crane trucks, and other machinery.
  2. Perform manual labor tasks and mechanical/plant operated road and bridge works (new and repairs), including timber re-decking, handrail maintenance, pile and substructure repairs, road and culvert maintenance, and repairs.
  3. Assist other teams with completing infrastructure-related work activities, if required, including manual labor tasks.
  4. Provide basic on-the-job guidance to team members allocated to projects/works, if needed.
  5. Comply with Council policies and procedures.
  6. Adhere to the Business Unit's values in all interactions with fellow employees and the general public.
  7. Maintain accurate records related to work, such as entering and closing off Work Orders in the Asset Management System via mobile device.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in operating road maintenance-related plant and equipment, tools, and small machinery.
  • Able to follow work schedules in an autonomous manner.
  • Prioritizing works for self and small teams.
  • Delivery of construction and maintenance of small to medium-sized projects/works.
  • Maintaining records in support of OH&S, quality assurance, environmental accreditation, and other requirements.
  • Proficient in using computers, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Availability to participate in after-hours callout roster.
