Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our national specialist team in Sydney as a SMSF Accountant.

The selected candidate will work closely with clients and colleagues to provide consultative advice and support on SMSF matters, leveraging their knowledge of financial data interpretation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and administer SMSF Financial Statements, Annual Returns, and Member's Statements including Trustee Minutes and Section 290-170 Notices.
  • Administer BAS, IAS and PAYG Payment Summaries for SMSFs.
  • Liaise with external auditors and other bodies such as the ATO and ASIC.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues and escalate any SIS compliance issues to assigned Manager / Director / Partner.
  • Support the preparation of Statements of Advice (SOAs) for the wider team.
  • Contribute to training and mentorship opportunities for less experienced team members.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Professional accounting experience working with clients in the Australian SMSF sector.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including report-writing and presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical and critical reasoning skills, including interpreting and reporting financial data.
  • Interest in working on a national level, liaising with interstate teams and clients.
  • Intermediate to advanced IT literacy, ideally including experience in the use of Class Super.
