Your Role

In the capacity of Senior Security Manager, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to design, execute, and oversee security measures that safeguard Flybuys' systems and data.

This position demands strategic insight and extensive knowledge in cybersecurity, along with a proven history of managing intricate security projects.

You will provide direct support to the Head of Security in executing the Flybuys Security Program and controls framework, leading significant program initiatives, and assisting with program reporting.

Your leadership will extend to the application security team, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Flybuys' information assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Program Execution:

  • Actively engage in security team leadership to enhance overall capabilities within the squad, encompassing security operations and engineering.
  • Take charge of delivering critical security initiatives, collaborating with the team and stakeholders to achieve essential outcomes for the Security Program.
  • Serve as the second-in-command to the Head of Security, providing guidance to the cybersecurity team and stepping in as the leader when necessary.
  • Drive the Security Program, ensuring alignment of key initiatives with Flybuys' security controls framework.
  • Establish a culture of clarity and autonomy, empowering team members to pursue their professional and organizational goals sustainably.

Application Security Management:

  • Lead and oversee the application security team, focusing on recruitment, training, and performance management to enhance team effectiveness.
  • As Product Manager, outline essential epics and initiatives for the Flybuys' Security Program to bolster application security throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Define security prerequisites for application development and deployment.
  • Promote application security awareness across the organization, evidenced by increased adherence to security practices.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure effective management and reporting of vulnerabilities, ensuring timely resolution of security issues.
  • Guide a team that:
  • Conducts regular security assessments, including code reviews, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing.
  • Works alongside security architects to design and maintain secure application architectures.
  • Advocates for secure coding practices among development teams.
  • Provides training and resources to developers on secure coding and application security.
  • Integrates security tools and processes into the development environment, such as static and dynamic analysis tools.
  • Creates and maintains guidelines for secure coding practices.
  • Ensures that all new services, platforms, or releases are delivered with an appropriate level of security assurance.
  • Acts as the primary contact for application security issues.

Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting:

  • Collaborate with relevant Delivery, Data, Product, Finance, IT Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of a Cybersecurity Program.
  • Maintain proactive stakeholder relationships, managing dependencies to surface issues before they impact product development.
  • Prepare bi-monthly executive reports on cybersecurity measures and the progress of uplift initiatives, ensuring clarity and quality that impresses executives.
  • Review and suggest enhancements to security policies, ensuring they are sought-after and utilized by stakeholders.

Knowledge Sharing and Expertise:

  • Stay informed about industry changes, inspiring colleagues with your insights and enthusiasm.
  • Provide thought leadership in security, demonstrated by the innovations and improvements you implement.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GCIH, OSCP, CRISC, or similar, obtained or maintained within the last three years.
  • Familiarity with AWS and Azure platforms, including security considerations for cloud deployments.
  • Understanding of security requirements throughout the Software Development Lifecycle, ideally including BSIMM.
  • Practical knowledge of security best practices and standards, including NIST, OWASP, ISO2700x.
  • Familiarity with the capabilities required by a Security Program, including incident response, technical investigations, SOC SIEM processes, vulnerability management, and threat assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience in technology leadership and transforming a Cybersecurity function.
  • Proven ability to attract and develop high-performing talent and create effective teams.
  • Experience managing initiatives that yield excellent outcomes for customers.
  • Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to present, influence, and collaborate with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Strong facilitation skills to achieve business outcomes.
  • Collaborative approach, comfortable in a matrix environment and values cross-organizational collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to suit different audiences.
