Overview


Azure Core Organization is responsible for creating foundation of Microsoft's Cloud Platform for utility computing.


This platform is one of the lowest levels of the services software/hardware stack and includes efficient, virtualized computational substrate, fully automated service management system, and comprehensive set of highly scalable storage services.


Azure is rapidly growing and evolving cloud platform; teams collaborate to manage capacity lifecycle from demand signals to hardware decommission. Our vision is to create Capacity Infrastructure Services (CIS) platform to automate hardware, software, and devices provisioning/de-provisioning functions, datacenter operations, business processes, and deliver data analytics end-to-end.


This will enable Microsoft services to manage capacity in consistent, efficient, and secure way.


As Cloud Infrastructure Software Developer in CIS team, you will contribute to developing holistic resource provisioning ecosystem to secure, validate and provision Azure platform and contribute to the fastest growing cloud platform on market.


This opportunity will allow you to see internals of Azure core services, learn how they bootstrap and scale, and have chance to own area of million-dollar business impact.


Responsibilities



  • Works with stakeholders to determine user requirements for feature.
  • Supports identification of dependencies, and development of design documents for product feature with oversight.
  • Implements code for product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable.
  • Breaks down work items into tasks and provides estimation.
  • Acts as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following playbook.
  • Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

Requirements


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.


Or equivalent experience.


Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
