We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Amazon. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale cloud infrastructure solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS. They will be responsible for investigating design approaches, prototyping new technology, and evaluating technical feasibility.

A day in the life of a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist at Amazon is fast-paced and challenging. You will work closely with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility. You will write high-quality distributed system software and drive engineering best practices.

As a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist at Amazon, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that are critical to our business and our customers' needs. You will collaborate with other team members to achieve shared goals and continuously improve our processes.

In this role, you will be encouraged to take ownership of your work, suggest innovative solutions, and participate in code reviews. You will also have opportunities to learn from others and share your own knowledge and expertise.

We offer a competitive salary package, including an estimated $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide a range of benefits, including shares, sign-on bonus, and access to cutting-edge technology and training.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years relevant experience in software development.
  • Experience working with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and object-oriented software design in Linux/Unix environments.
  • Proficiency with one or more general-purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: Python, Java, Typescript, Scala, Golang, C++ or C#.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle; including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Track record of designing and building complex software systems and successfully delivering them to customers.
  • Exposure to architecting and designing large-scale distributed systems (e.g. SQL/NoSQL, scalability and fault-tolerance).
