XPT Software Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to manage our infrastructure and ensure the security and performance of our Kafka applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS services, including Route 53, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, MSK, Kafka clients, VPC, and connectivity with on-premises and other cloud apps.

This role involves automating infrastructure and deployments using AWS CloudFormation scripts and optimizing throughput, minimizing latency, and fine-tuning performance. You will also be responsible for setting up secure connectivity with on-premises and other cloud applications, such as Azure Event Hub and Google PubSub.

The successful candidate will have experience with Kafka design and development, Linux/Unix systems administration or Windows administration, and strong scripting skills for automation tasks. Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools, such as Gitlab, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes, is also desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage AWS infrastructure
  • Implement authentication and authorization for Kafka objects
  • Monitor platform and Kafka applications(objects)
  • Automate infrastructure and deployments
  • Set up security best practices

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience with Kafka design and development
  • Experience with AWS services such as Route 53, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, MSK, Kafka clients, VPC, and connectivity with on-premises and other cloud apps
  • Automate AWS-MSK setup using AWS CloudFormation scripts
  • Experience in Linux/Unix systems administration or Windows administration
  • Experience in monitoring using AWS Cloud Watch and other MSK's native options to tracking performance, auditing, and trouble shooting
  • Experience on automation deployments (Connectors, Kafka clients, etc.)
  • Strong scripting skills for automation tasks
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Gitlab, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Optimizing throughput, minimizing latency, and performance fine-tuning

Desirable Criteria:

  • AWS infrastructure knowledge on VPCs, networks & subnets, security groups, AWS integration services (AWS-MSK, AWS-MFT, S3, AWS-RDS, and App Flow)
