This opportunity exists for an energetic candidate to join Lactalis as a permanent full-time supplier relationship manager/field officer.

The role reports directly to the National Supplier Services Manager, supporting Raw Milk Suppliers in Gippsland by managing long-term farmer relationships, facilitating communication between suppliers and Lactalis, and identifying new supplier arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of farm-related challenges and serve as the primary point of contact between the supplier base and Lactalis.
  • Pursue CSR emissions reduction projects on supplier farms, driving sustainability and environmental responsibility.
  • Assist suppliers in resolving issues affecting milk quality, ensuring the highest standards are met.
  • Manage routine tasks such as coordinating issue resolutions (quality, budgets, milk logistics, CSR assessments, etc.) and collaborating with relevant departments to address complex situations.
  • Utilize reporting tools to provide accurate information and feedback to management, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Foster win-win outcomes with suppliers and Lactalis, enhancing loyalty and commitment.
  • Recruit supply when necessary through targeted recruitment and retention initiatives, positioning Lactalis as the preferred processor and meeting raw milk volume targets.
Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess experience in building customer and client relationships, have a solid understanding of the dairy industry, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build rapport quickly with various stakeholders.

Self-motivation is crucial due to the significant autonomy required in this position.

Degree qualifications in Agriculture are desirable, but the right relationship manager with experience and a genuine interest in dairy is ideal.
