The Major Accounts Division is responsible for developing and accomplishing goals established for profit, growth, service, and producer relations for all classes of business. In this role, you will contribute as a senior technical underwriter with respect to Financial Lines products, fostering relationships with major customers and brokers by demonstrating Chubb's commitment to deploying its global coverage and risk management capabilities.

Your Role
  • You will assist in the development and accomplishment of goals established for profit, growth, service, and producer relations for all classes of business within the Major Accounts Division.
  • You will contribute as a senior technical underwriter with respect to Financial Lines products.
Your Responsibilities
  • Underwriting Process / Analysis:
    • Assist in the positioning and negotiations associated with delivering profitable transactions to achieve financial plans for all applicable product lines in the Major Accounts Division.
    • Determine acceptability of new lines and renewals, following established underwriting guidelines for Financial Lines products and within the scope of delegated authority.
    • Utilize appropriate endorsements and apply adequate pricing structure.
    • Consult with LOB product managers on risks exceeding delegated authority.
    • Provide technical leadership for underwriting/marketing in the LOB product or MAD, including risk referrals and portfolio management.
    • Maintain awareness of claim activity with assigned book and communicate with adjusters as needed.
    • Monitor underwriting results and premium and loss trends.
  • Production / Relationship Management:
    • Identify, analyze, and develop sources of desirable new business opportunities, including cross-departmental opportunities.
    • Cultivate 'zero relationship' prospects and 'one-line' accounts into future Chubb clients.
    • Prepare, deliver, and negotiate quotations.
    • Actively participate in business development activities through regular team meetings.
    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key producers and insureds.
    • Review performance reports, enforce accounts, and make quality-control recommendations.
    • Increase producers and insureds' awareness of appetite, products, and advantages through product presentations.
Your Skills & Experience
  • Degree qualified
  • Strong working knowledge of Financial Lines insurances
  • High degree of technical underwriting ability; oral and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with brokerage, customer, and internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Develop creative solutions to unique underwriting situations
  • Understand advance pricing techniques and modelling
  • Familiar with developing marketing plans and handling complex accounts
  • Track record of high achievement in a team-based and results-oriented culture
  • Familiar with the products/services of key competitors
  • Experience in the interpretation and analysis of claims and appropriate deployment of loss control resources
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven ability to seek out new distribution sources
  • Possess or quickly obtain knowledge of Chubb's global capabilities and financials
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft systems including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
