The Opportunity

We are seeking a self-motivated individual to explore the intersection of women rights and popular culture in post-1998 Indonesia. This transdisciplinary research will build upon works in gender, policy and governance, social movements, culture, and media studies. The research aims to develop insights that can shape future policy making efforts in addressing the country's systemic inequalities and advance Monash's Impact 2030 goal.

Successful applicants will have an excellent academic track record and competence in qualitative research methods.

Candidate Requirements

The successful applicant must be an Indonesian citizen. We encourage applicants who identify as women or members of gender, religious, or ethnic minorities to apply. A strong academic background in governance and policy studies, gender studies, and media and film studies is required. Scholarship holders must be enrolled full time and on campus in Jakarta.
