Job Description:

The Indigenous Health Workforce Traineeship (IHWT) Program aims to increase the number of skilled Aboriginal people working in the Aboriginal healthcare sector, create viable career pathways in the health and community services sector for Aboriginal people, and build the capacity of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) to provide culturally appropriate healthcare.

The IHWT Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating program administration, recruitment, training, and related activities. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the IHWT Program.

  • Coordinating program/project administration, recruitment, training, and related activities;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including ACCHS, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), and other key organisations;
  • Providing administrative support, including data entry, document preparation, and communication with stakeholders;
  • Assisting with the development of reports, proposals, and other documents as required;
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of strategies to increase the number of skilled Aboriginal people working in the Aboriginal healthcare sector.
Key Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have experience in program/project administration, recruitment, training, or related fields. A strong understanding of the vocational education and training (VET) sector and qualifications delivered by RTOs is essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also required.
