As a Remote Health Specialist, you will use your understanding of Aboriginal cultures to deliver personalized care, manage emergencies, and conduct community education.

  • Provide primary health care services, including assessment, treatment, and referral in isolated or resource-limited environments.
  • Manage emergencies and deliver community education.
  • Collaborate with local healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Primary Health Care Services: Provide comprehensive health care services to individuals and communities in remote areas, including health assessments, treatment, and referrals.
  2. Emergency Management: Develop and implement emergency management plans to ensure prompt response to emergencies.
  3. Community Education: Conduct community education programs to promote healthy behaviors and disease prevention.
  4. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and reports of patient care, including medical histories and treatment plans.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Registered Nurse with at least 4 years of experience, including in Primary Health Care.
  • Experience: Experience in remote nursing, emergency care, and clinic setup.
  • Clinical Skills: Strong clinical skills across primary care services.
  • Training: Completion of CARPA training or familiarity with the CARPA Manual.
  • Education: Desirable: Graduate Certificate in Remote Health Practice (or equivalent).
