Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate content creator to join our dynamic digital team. The successful candidate will support the Group Digital Editor in guiding our online strategy, growing our audience by identifying new opportunities.

About the Role:

  • Create and curate compelling and engaging digital content for various platforms.
  • Manage and populate social media accounts in conjunction with the wider digital team.
  • Utilize graphic design and video tools to create engaging content.
  • Develop and implement paid social media campaigns to ensure optimum reach and CTR.
  • Advise on our online strategy and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Identify trending story opportunities and expand our audience.
  • Collaborate with digital producers, reporters, editors, and the video team to ensure news stories receive the right online treatment.
  • Stay updated with local, national, and international news.
  • Continuously upskill and stay current with technology, digital, and social trends.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Journalism or related field, with experience working in the media industry or a similar digital role.
  • Strong work ethic and healthy level of initiative.
  • High level of literacy and attention to detail.
  • Good interview and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously under high pressure.
  • Flexibility in a fast-paced environment – including weekend shifts.
