Marine Engineer Position

We are seeking a skilled Marine Engineer to join our manufacturing client in Wroxham. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a strong background in mechanical engineering systems.

About the Role
  • This position involves building and installing engineering systems on luxury yachts during the build process.
  • You will work collaboratively with other trades and support them as needed.
  • Your responsibilities include preparing, building, and installing engineering systems according to current drawings, specifications, and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Building and installing engineering systems on luxury yachts in build.
  2. Supporting and working collaboratively with other trades during yacht build.
  3. Responsible for the preparation, build, and installation of engineering systems in line with current drawings, specifications, and guidelines.
Requirements
  • A thorough knowledge of mechanical engineering systems, including hydraulics, plumbing (domestic, marine, grey, black, fresh water), air conditioning, gas installations, engine/gearbox, and final drive installations.
  • Previous experience in Marine Engineering is required.
  • City & Guilds qualifications (as a minimum).
  • A broad understanding of the requirements for marine engineering installations within yacht or recreational craft.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques used in GRP boats.
  • A good understanding of current marine engineering technologies.
  • A good awareness of H + S requirements, guidelines, and best practice.
  • Ability to build and install engineering systems in recreational craft.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and work collaboratively with other trades.
  • Ability to safely use ladders, work on uneven levels, and in confined spaces.
  • Able to read and interpret Engineering drawings and written specifications.
  • Able to safely use hand, power, and bench-mounted tools, including polishers and grinders.
  • Experience of metal fabrication, including TIG welding.
  • Mechanical engineering installations within the yacht or recreational craft building industry.
  • Been in a similar role within the previous 2 years.
  • An exceptional 'attention to detail' attitude with a 'right first-time' approach.
