Learner Driver Training Program Specialist

Help young people achieve their 100 hour and P-plates milestones, unlocking employment and education opportunities while promoting safer drivers in the North West. This role involves leading a volunteer-supported driving simulator program with a safety-first approach and practical mindset.
The Opportunity- Lead day-to-day operations and growth of the driving simulator mentor program.
- Schedule sessions, maintain hardware/software, design training scenarios, and track progress data for driving simulators.
- Coordinate mentors, participants, and facilities across Cloncurry and Mount Isa to deliver engaging learning experiences.
- Plan and execute program targets, calendars, and lesson schedules.
- Maintain a Safety Management Plan with clear risk controls for on-road lessons.
- Recruit, screen, and onboard volunteer mentors; deliver induction and refreshers.
- Manage referrals and intake; complete baseline assessments and lesson plans.
- Track hours, competencies, and readiness for practical tests; celebrate achievements.
- A tech-savvy facilitator/coach comfortable operating driving simulators and supporting beginners.
- Proven experience coordinating programs/rosters, volunteers or logistics in a community setting.
- Clear, compassionate communication skills building trust with young people, families, and mentors.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills; comfortable with spreadsheets, calendars, and databases.
