Job Overview:

The primary objective of this role is to provide comprehensive support to Rural Fire Brigades and volunteers across various regions. This entails fostering connections between local needs and district, regional, and state resources to enhance training, mitigation activities, asset management, and brigade operations.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage human and physical resources within the designated area to deliver high-quality support to staff, volunteers, and Rural Fire Brigades.
  • Respond promptly to large-scale rural fires and other emergency incidents, providing on-site command and direct operations in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Lead the team in implementing regional strategic and operational plans to ensure exceptional service delivery to support brigades and volunteers in protecting the local community from bushfires and other emergencies.
  • Promote organisational change programs through regular consultation and discussion with staff, volunteers, the community, and other stakeholders to embed reform and uplift initiatives effectively.
Key Requirements:
  • Must meet the mandatory requirements and attributes as outlined in the generic RFSQ Inspector role description.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders from rural and remote communities.
  • Rural Officer Two (RFSO2) or applicants with equivalent industry experience, appropriate skills, and knowledge are encouraged to apply.
Working Conditions:

This position involves day work, yet may require flexible hours to meet functional demands, including working at night and weekends as part of the role.
