Job Description

As an accomplished and passionate Environment, Health & Safety professional, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe and thriving workplace as the EHS Manager. Take the lead on the Xtrapolis 2.0 project at the Ballarat site, VIC, guiding the EHS function on site and overseeing induction programs for new starters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive EHS risk assessments, ensuring the implementation of effective measures to control and mitigate risks.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain procedures and tools tailored for the EHS Management System, aligning with legislative requirements and relevant standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of the site, demonstrating a strong focus on compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with site teams to foster and enhance the EHS culture, using strategic insights where needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Qualifications in Workplace, Health and Safety (Diploma, Bachelor's Degree or similar).
  • A deep understanding of local legal requirements, particularly in the context of Rail Safety.
  • Initiative, drive, and resilience, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels within the project.
  • Previous experience in the rail industry or a similar safety-critical environment, highlighting adaptability and expertise.
  • A solid grasp of safe working systems, rules, and procedures.
