We are seeking a strategic communications leader to oversee the development and implementation of effective internal and external communication strategies. The ideal candidate will have substantial knowledge and experience in leading teams and communicating with various stakeholders.

  • The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Australian energy markets and the role of the AER in ensuring a secure, reliable, and affordable energy future for Australia as it transitions to net zero emissions.
  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience across all strategic communications and engagement activities is essential, preferably within a government and/or regulatory environment.
  • The ability to lead a team or similar role in a fast-paced and large complex people-centred organisation is crucial.

About You:

  • You will possess extensive knowledge of Australian energy markets, the role, purpose, and objectives of the AER, and the complex political and stakeholder environment within which the AER operates.
  • Your significant expertise in strategic communications and engagement will enable you to develop and deliver organisation-wide communication, public information management, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • You will have a proven track record of leading teams and managing projects in a collaborative and results-driven manner.
