About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Centre Manager to join the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Queensland University of Technology. The successful candidate will provide leadership and management of the Centre's core operational activities, working closely with the Director and other senior leaders to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the Centre's vision and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and management of the Centre's operational activities, ensuring alignment with the University's research priorities and objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective plans and strategies to achieve the Centre's goals and objectives, working closely with the Director and other senior leaders.
  • Manage and coordinate the Centre's research projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of research outputs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, industry partners, and government agencies.
  • Develop and manage the Centre's budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and financial management.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Centre staff, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field, such as environmental science, ecology, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in research management, preferably in a university or research institution setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective plans and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex research projects and ensure timely delivery of research outputs.
