Your division, Power Tools, is the highest-profile portfolio, dominating sales revenue, and comprising a very high-performing team.

As General Manager Merchandise, you will lead and mentor your team to create and build a compelling vision for the Power Tools portfolio.

You will also take the lead on broader merchandise strategies, initiatives, and projects, including setting and executing the national strategic buying direction for your portfolio.

This role requires a proven leader with experience as a GM Merchandise, Buying Manager, National Merchandise Manager, or similar, preferably with category experience in Power Tools or Hardware.

You must have strong stakeholder and relationships management skills, be able to influence and engage diverse internal and external stakeholders, and inspire with ease.

You should have skill sets in inventory management, negotiating, and building supplier relationships, with a natural ability to drive and lead change with people and partners.

This role is ideal for someone who is authentic, down-to-earth, and inspiring, with a non-hierarchical approach and a 'win-win' attitude.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor your team to deliver outstanding merchandise results.
  • Set and execute the national strategic buying direction for your portfolio.
  • Develop and capitalise upon retailer and supplier relationships.
  • Review pricing, promotional, and layout strategies.
  • Ensure expertise knowledge is applied in forecasting, inventory management, commercial/trading terms negotiation, and supplier management and development.
