Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our Service Department in Direk, SA. The successful candidate will perform servicing, mechanical repairs, and reconditioning on trailers and prime movers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks on heavy vehicles and trailers
  • Diagnose and repair complex faults including suspension, brake systems, axles, and electrical issues
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest safety standards and accurately documented
  • Collaborate with the workshop team to resolve quality issues and improve efficiency
  • Participate in pre-start safety routines and maintain a clean, safe workspace
  • Communicate job progress with supervisors and adhere to timelines
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience as a mechanic, preferably in heavy vehicle or trailer maintenance
  • Familiarity with the transport or automotive industry
  • Strong knowledge of air brake systems, suspension, and trailer components
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take initiative
  • Basic computer skills and clear communication abilities
  • Relevant trade qualification -Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic (desirable)
