Heavy Industrial Equipment Technician - Mechanical

We are seeking skilled Heavy Industrial Equipment Technicians to join our rail component overhaul team.

This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis under a comprehensive agreement with a 9-day fortnight schedule, providing every second Friday off.

  • Dayshift - Monday-Thursday 5 : 30 am - 2 : 30 pm, and 5 : 30 am - 1 : 30 pm on working Fridays
  • Afternoon shift - Monday - Friday 2.30 pm

Job Overview

As a Heavy Industrial Equipment Technician, you'll work in our rail component overhaul line, focusing on equipment maintenance tasks along with general workshop duties.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Duties : Maintaining heavy industrial equipment on CNC Lathes for requalification to desired specifications. Operate CNC vertical horizontal boring machines, pressing functions, other general machinist duties as required and general crane operations.Quality Control : Inspecting and interpreting technical drawings / specifications, determining manufacturing methods, and ensuring standards are met.Safety and Teamwork : Commitment to safety practices, teamwork, and collaboration.

Requirements

Qualifications : Relevant Australian Trade qualification in Heavy Industrial Equipment Maintenance or similar field.Experience : Proven experience in heavy industrial equipment maintenance and repair. Experience in rail, electric motor, or mining industries is advantageous but not required.Skills : High attention to detail, solid understanding of measuring instruments, strong communication skills, and ability to troubleshoot and repair tools.
