Lead Motor Underwriter

We are driving innovation in the insurance sector and seeking an experienced motor underwriter to lead our complex portfolio management.

In this role, you will apply advanced analytical skills and leverage digital tools to deliver exceptional customer outcomes. You will collaborate with distribution partners, product teams, and fellow underwriters to drive growth, innovation, and excellence in underwriting.

  • Underwrite and analyse renewal and new business opportunities within delegated authority levels.
  • Collaborate with brokers and internal teams to deliver tailored property insurance solutions.
  • Leverage data insights and digital tools to inform pricing, coverage decisions, and risk assessments.
  • Partner across Claims, Distribution, and other underwriting lines to support multi-line opportunities.
  • Contribute to underwriting innovation by sharing insights and supporting proposition development.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience in insurance, including motor underwriting and sales. They hold a Business degree or equivalent, with ANZIIF CIP Senior Insurance Qualification. They have proven success in driving digital transformation or innovation within underwriting and possess strong understanding of underwriting systems, digital platforms, and data analytics. They are skilled in risk assessment using both traditional and digital methodologies and are an effective communicator and collaborator with internal teams and external partners.
