Chief Executive Officer Role Overview

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will collaborate with the Board and AMSANT member services to implement the strategic vision and goals of the organisation. This role requires a consummate professional experienced in oscillating between strategy, advocacy, and practical engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the growth and development of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services
  • Representing AMSANT in regional and national forums
  • Lobbying and advocating for policy changes to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people in the NT
  • Leading and managing dedicated teams across the NT
  • Ensuring strong governance standards are practiced, maintained, and continuously improved

This role demands a comprehensive understanding of Aboriginal health issues and policies, as well as an ability to demonstrate strong evidence of collaboration and influence. Essential qualities include strategic thinking, high-level negotiation, communication, organisational, and financial acumen. Frequent travel is expected.
