Job Description:
The Community Health Promoter will participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of health promotion strategies and programs designed to strengthen protective factors for mental wellbeing, reduce the health impact of disadvantage, and address the needs of diverse communities.
The role involves working collaboratively with health services, government departments, non-government organizations, and community members on health promotion strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct needs assessments and develop strategies addressing the whole community
- Develop project plans and participate in local governance mechanisms
- Work collaboratively with health services, government departments, non-government organizations, and community members
- Develop effective partnerships
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in social science, health, or related field
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in planning, implementing, and evaluating health promotion initiatives
- Experience working in community-based settings particularly with diverse communities
- Understanding of evidence-based health promotion and ability to work in partnership with other staff and organizations
- Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2)
