Job Description

As a senior project officer, you will play a pivotal role in developing communications and providing strategic advice on high-profile issues.

The successful candidate will have exceptional research, writing, editing, and formatting skills, with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy. You should also possess strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines, and sound judgement, diplomacy, and analytical capability.

Key responsibilities include preparing speeches and speaking points for events, coordinating, drafting and reviewing Ministerial briefings, planning and delivering Ministerial events and visits across NSW, and delivering internal education and engagement initiatives in the Department.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Key Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience drafting speaking materials for senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-level strategic advice on complex, sensitive, or contentious issues at senior management or ministerial level.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including editing and formatting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
