About the Role

This position is ideal for a local candidate or an individual willing to relocate. The HSE Advisor role is situated on-site at a significant Oil and Gas project. The successful candidate will demonstrate a steadfast commitment to ensuring a safe working environment. They will possess a natural ability to lead and influence diverse teams while prioritizing the promotion of a positive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture professional relationships with the site team, enhancing the organization's professional image.
  • Conduct surveys, evaluations, and investigations to address safety, health, and environmental concerns.
  • Perform thorough incident investigations as per project requirements, including gathering witness statements, conducting re-enactments, and compiling detailed incident reports.
  • Provide expert advice on various specialized areas, such as safety regulations, hazardous materials, noise control, machinery safety, and occupational health issues.

Candidate Profile:

  • Essential: Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, HSEQ, Risk Management, or a related field (Degree preferred; minimum requirement is Certificate IV in OHS).
  • Strong understanding of HSE legislation, industry standards, and best practices relevant to the organization.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a contracting environment, preferably within an oil and gas setting (experience with coatings and insulation projects is highly advantageous).
  • Experience in a multicultural workforce is preferred.
