System Administrator Role Summary

This is a permanent, hybrid role with a leading IT solutions provider in Canberra. The role involves handling escalations from the level 2 team, solving complex technical problems across modern infrastructure, and contributing to BAU and project work (e.g., cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, digital transformation).

The successful candidate will be an experienced System Administrator or a strong Level 2 candidate looking to move into a Level 3 role. They will have excellent communication, time management and organisation skills, as well as experience working with cloud & applications (SharePoint, Windows, Azure), modern Microsoft stack (Microsoft 365, Windows Server) and security (MDM, Sophos, Defender, Tenable).

Job Responsibilities:
  • Act as a primary escalation point for all High Priority Incidents
  • Resolve level 3 technical issues and communicate with clients and service team
  • Provide deskside support and onsite visits to a variety of clients (scheduled and reactive)
  • Support applications, networks, phones, security and infrastructure for clients
  • Respond to and resolve tickets within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA)
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of technical support experience, preferably with an MSP
  • Excellent communication, time management and organisation
  • Team player with strong listening, feedback processing, and knowledge sharing
