We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at our Wilpinjong mine, located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy machinery equipment.
The role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire replacements, as well as conducting complex repairs and inspections. Our team works closely with the planning and scheduling teams to ensure that all work is completed on time and to a high standard.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience working with heavy machinery, including excavators, graders, dozers, loaders, and drills. You will also need to possess strong diagnostic and repair skills, as well as excellent communication skills.
Job Description:
- Maintain and repair heavy machinery equipment, including excavators, graders, dozers, loaders, and drills;
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire replacements;
- Conduct complex repairs and inspections to ensure optimal working condition;
- Work with the planning and scheduling teams to ensure that all work is completed on time and to a high standard;
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work environment;
- Minimise production downtime;
- Participate in and complete shift change, site meetings, communications or reporting requirements to the required standard;
- Actively engage in the Continuous Improvement Program;
- Compliance with site Safety and Health Management system requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Australian recognised Trade Certificate - Plant Mechanic, Automotive Heavy Vehicle, Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Duty Trade Qualification / Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment / Plant Mechanic Certificate III Heavy or similar;
- Experience in maintaining and servicing excavators, off-highway trucks, graders, dozers, loaders, and drills;
- Knowledge of conducting safety inspections and completing JSEAs, risk assessments and permits;
- Excellent diagnostic and repair skills;
- A commitment to be an effective team player, including having a positive attitude;
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to ensure jobs are completed on time and to a quality standard;
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
- Forklift, Dogging and Working at Heights desirable.
