Pain Management Consultant

Job Description

Provide high-quality clinical leadership and consultancy services in pain management to healthcare professionals, patients, and families. Deliver expert care planning, education, and advice to enhance pain assessment and management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in pain management covering chronic and acute pain, including perioperative and inpatient settings.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based pain management plans and resource materials for patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to enhance capability, knowledge, and delivery of pain management services.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A current Registered Nurse Authority to Practise with AHPRA and 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration clinical experience, including 3 years in the specialty and relevant postgraduate qualifications.
  • Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, as well as advanced information technology skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively independently and within a multidisciplinary team, prioritizing and managing workload.
  • Ability to lead quality improvement, practice development, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
