Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 - Pain Management

Location: Broken Hill, NSW. 38 hours per week. Permanent Full Time. Remuneration: $131,870.90 - $134,500.70 + Superannuation.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert leadership, clinical advice, consultancy services, care planning, and education to health care professionals, patients and families in pain management.
• Deliver high quality service as a member of the multidisciplinary team in pain management, covering chronic and acute pain (pre-operative, post-operative, procedural, trauma and disease-related pain), predominantly within perioperative and inpatient settings.
• Act as a resource to other health care professionals and services to enhance capability, knowledge and delivery of pain management services including pain assessment and management strategies.
• Develop specialised education resources for pain management for patients and their families.

Qualifications and Experience

• Current Authority to Practise as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). At least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration clinical experience including 3 years in the specialty and relevant postgraduate qualifications.
• Demonstrated effective communication, including verbal and written skills, interpersonal ability, negotiation and conflict resolution, and advanced information technology skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritising and managing workload.
• Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement, practice development and evidence-based practice.
• Extensive clinical expertise and leadership in chronic and acute pain management.
• Ability to identify education needs and develop education plans and resource material for patients/clients and health care professionals.
• Current NSW driver's license with the ability to drive for work purposes including occasional long distances and overnight stays.
