Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Antimicrobial Stewardship Program across multiple sites.
- Design and establish a new model of Antimicrobial Stewardship, utilizing a fee-for-service approach.
- Provide clinical leadership and expertise to pharmacists specializing in Antimicrobial Stewardship.
- Offer expert advice and education to medical employees, pharmacists, and nurses as required.
- Drive innovation and improvement in antimicrobial use within the organization.
- Ensure compliance with Accreditation standards for Antimicrobial stewardship is achieved.
- Prescribe antimicrobials in a patient-centered manner.
- Implement cost-effective, high-quality antimicrobial use practices and reduce antimicrobial resistance incidence.
- Provide expert advice to Standard 3 and 4 committees on Antimicrobial Stewardship activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A Medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) recognized by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians or equivalent.
- Eligibility for Specialist registration with AHPR.
- Specialist training in Infectious Diseases.
- Proven experience in antimicrobial stewardship and infectious diseases management.
- Evidence of success through collaboration.
- Understanding of clinical practice in various specialties.
- Proven track record of productive work habits.
