We are seeking a skilled Human Resources Consultant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with expertise in human resources management, employment law, and industrial relations.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and support the delivery of human resources activities. They will lead the planning and coordination of human resources related events and initiatives, analyze data, and generate reports as required.

This role reports to the Manager, Human Resources (Operations) and is responsible for contributing to the success of transformation and cultural change within the organization.

Key responsibilities include maintaining a working knowledge of current human resource legislation, regulations, policies, procedures, and practices to ensure the provision of accurate and timely advice and support to region managers and employees across a broad range of human resources functions.

The consultant will coordinate a range of human resources related activities and processes, including flexible work arrangements, increments and other payroll-driven activities, compilation and monitoring of human resources-related documentation and approvals, and employee surveys.

They will also provide training, support, and informal mentoring/coaching to other region employees, apply relevant project management strategies to lead and/or coordinate human resources-related projects, events, and initiatives, and represent the region's interests on TAFE Queensland-wide project/working groups.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Sound knowledge of, and the ability to interpret and apply, human resource management legislation, policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of a range of computerized systems and applications relevant to Human Resources, including Aurion Employee Self-Service, Aurion Client, Power BI Reporting, Service Now, and the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Proven ability to contribute to a high-performing human resources team, establishing meaningful connections with employees throughout the organization, effectively building trust and rapport, and contributing positively to cultural change.

How You Will Be Assessed

  • Highly developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills as evidenced by the ability to liaise, consult, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders and prepare accurate and meaningful advice, reports, correspondence, and presentations.
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of a range of computerized systems and applications relevant to Human Resources, including but not limited to Aurion Employee Self-Service, Aurion Client, Power BI Reporting, Service Now, and the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Communication and problem-solving skills, including managing issues of a sensitive and confidential nature with tact and discretion, working effectively under pressure, prioritizing tasks, and delivering successful outcomes within specified timeframes.
