About the Role


We are currently seeking a seasoned Chief Hotel Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. This exciting opportunity will see you lead and develop a team of maintenance professionals, elevating the hotel's standards and ensuring guest comfort.



The Job Description



  • Lead a team to plan and execute preventative maintenance and general repairs throughout the hotel, upholding high standards for guest satisfaction.
  • Design and implement solutions to enhance energy management and conservation, minimizing the hotel's environmental footprint.
  • Negotiate with contractors to secure competitive quotes, ensuring value for money while maintaining the highest quality services.
  • Oversee Environmental Social Governance (ESG) initiatives, promoting sustainability and responsible practices within the hotel.
  • Ensure the hotel adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and fire safety regulations, safeguarding employees and guests alike.
  • Audit and report on maintenance activities, providing valuable insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of repair work and daily checks, meeting local council and government specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to minimize disruptions during repairs and maintenance, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Research and recommend procedures to improve departmental efficiency, submitting proposals to the Portfolio General Manager.
  • Undertake project work as required, driving innovation and excellence within the hotel.
  • Prepare and submit capital expenditure proposals, securing funding for key projects.


Required Skills and Qualifications



  • A relevant tertiary qualification is essential, demonstrating expertise in hotel operations or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading a team, with a strong track record of developing and motivating staff.
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A background in managing a maintenance function within a large, multistorey complex is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The capacity to respond to emergency situations outside regular working hours, ensuring prompt attention to critical issues.
  • A hands-on approach to problem-solving, driving innovative solutions to complex challenges.

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and bonuses.
