About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Aircraft Maintenance Manager to lead our technical workforce and ensure the highest possible standard of aircraft maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the organization's technical workforce and allocate resources to provide high-quality maintenance and modification services to customers.
  • Ensure aircraft are maintained in accordance with relevant and current Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, and tasks and duties are accomplished in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of repair and maintenance procedures; monitor the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.
  • Provide leadership for and knowledge of the full scope of activities carried out by the maintenance organization, including management of the technical workforce.
  • Meet the requirements of and hold the post of Responsible Manager as described in the CASA Regulations.
  • Work with the Quality & Safety Manager to ensure aviation quality, safety, and compliance with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for responding to quality deficiencies in the area of activity for which he/she is responsible, which arise from independent quality audits.
  • Review and manage aircraft technical work scope prior, during, and post maintenance to ensure accuracy prior to induction and while aircraft is undergoing maintenance.
  • Responsible for the availability of sufficient competent personnel to plan, perform, supervise, inspect, and certify the work being performed.
  • Coordinate and provide professional, efficient service and flawless delivery of customer requirements with a view to exceed their expectations and enhance the customer experience.
  • Liaise with the Sales Team and customers to ensure aircraft requirements are coordinated and clearly communicated.
  • Assist the Sales Team in preparing estimates and quotations for service work.
  • Manage resources efficiently to achieve the desired results.
  • Review engineer training requirements and assist in scheduling training requirements for MRO team members.
  • Manage the performance and development process for the MRO team members.
  • Hold meetings as required to communicate items such as general communication and resolving issues.
Requirements
  • Superior team management and leadership skills to achieve the desired results.
  • A hands-on approach that ensures individuals and the team meet their full potential.
  • A minimum of 5 years aircraft maintenance experience, with experience in heavy maintenance and modifications.
  • Experience and qualifications on light and medium Bell, Airbus, and Leonardo models will be well regarded.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CASA Part 145 and CAR30 regulations is essential.
  • Strong work ethic and a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a goal-oriented approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior time management and organization skills.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of maintenance software including Quantum Control would be desirable.
  • Skills in operating in a Microsoft environment including Office, Outlook, Teams, and Share Point.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security Identification Card and meet pre-employment DAMP requirements.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency is preferred.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain aviation and other government security clearances that may be required.
