
Debt Collection Specialist

Our business is seeking a Debt Collection Specialist to join its finance team on a 12-month full-time fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will work 4 days per week in the office and 1 day from home.
The primary responsibility of this role is the management of debtor accounts, covering day-to-day accounts receivable duties, selected accounts payable (AP) activities, and other ad hoc tasks as required.
- Manage end-to-end accounts receivable, including reclaims via a retailer's platform and ERP system, customer reconciliations, and processing store credits across multiple entities.
- Handle daily banking tasks such as reconciling debtor accounts, credit card and travel invoices, fuel and Etag transactions, and supporting bank reconciliations.
- Process product returns and store credits in line with company procedures, with regular follow-up with sales reps where needed.
- Support accounts payable functions, including raising POs, filing documentation, and assisting with expense and cost analysis.
- Provide general administrative support, such as ordering supplies and handling ad hoc duties as directed by management.
- Supervise and train a part-time team member, ensuring consistency and accuracy across tasks.
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in accounts receivable, with a solid grasp of end-to-end AR processes.
- Confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative finance team.
- Strong ERP skills, with exposure to Microsoft Navision or Dynamics 365 Business Central a bonus.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when handling large volumes of transactions.
- Comfortable challenging existing processes and suggesting practical improvements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships across internal teams and external customers.
