Heavy Vehicle Technician Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled heavy vehicle technician to join our team. This is a key role that requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.

The successful applicant will have a solid background in diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, electrical and technical issues in heavy vehicles, with a focus on trucks and trailers. They will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections to identify potential problems and recommending preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical and technical issues in heavy vehicles.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and recommend preventative maintenance.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and tire rotations.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately identify and resolve vehicle issues.
  • Collaborate with the service team to ensure timely and efficient repairs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures to clients.

Requirements:

  • Heavy Vehicle Technician qualification.
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicles, particularly trucks.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and technical systems in heavy vehicles.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex vehicle issues.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
