About the Role

">Security Clearances Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Security Clearances Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our security clearance assessment process, you will play a critical role in ensuring the suitability of individuals for Australian Government security clearances.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to assess and analyse sensitive information according to legislative frameworks and internal policies and procedures. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential security risks and provide high-quality recommendations and/or decisions on security clearances.

About Our Team

Our team is responsible for conducting security clearance assessments for over 800 federal, state and territory agencies and industry partners. We pride ourselves on being a highly skilled and professional organisation dedicated to delivering security-assured clearances that meet the needs of the Australian Government and Australia's national and economic security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and Analyse Sensitive Information: Assess and analyse sensitive information about security clearance applicants using telephone, video and/or in-person interviews with referees and/or applicants.
  • Mitigate Potential Security Risks: Identify and mitigate potential security risks associated with security clearance applications.
  • Provide High-Quality Recommendations and/or Decisions: Provide high-quality recommendations and/or decisions on security clearances based on evidence-based analysis, professional structured judgment methodology and risk management principles.

Requirements

  • Excellent Communication and Analytical Skills: Have excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to assess and analyse sensitive information according to legislative frameworks and internal policies and procedures.
  • Ability to Work under Pressure: Be able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High-Level Organisational and Time Management Skills: Have high-level organisational and time management skills to manage multiple cases and/or decisions simultaneously.
