We are looking for independent, passionate, and deeply experienced professionals in the Security, Compliance and Assurance domain to provide depth in assisting our partners, customers and their stakeholders to understand and address their security, regulatory and compliance requirements in moving their sensitive workloads and heavily regulated data into the cloud.
This candidate should be technically experienced and innovative in security/compliance with the ability to handle a wide range of regulatory and government security and privacy requirements and translate those requirements into cloud applications.
The role has high visibility with government agencies, financial institutions, regulators, CISOs, CTOs, their staffs, and AWS leadership to ensure compliance with global AWS standards, practices and policies.
It is part of the AWS Compliance & Security Assurance team in Australia & New Zealand, with responsibilities to develop long-term projects and processes across multiple stakeholders, including customers and regulatory agencies.Key responsibilitiesServe as an expert to AWS, customers, auditors, and regulators on regional and domestic regulations on security, critical infrastructure, cybersecurity, technology, outsourcing and operational resilience.Anticipate new or potential laws and regulations and develop mitigation and implementation approaches; escalate and manage escalations as necessary.Develop and execute long-term security and compliance projects and initiatives for AWS and its regulated customers.Innovate to develop mechanisms that continuously improve the customer experience of security assurance.Perform compliance impact and market assessments of emerging programs.Develop thought leadership material on cloud and emerging technologies for regulators, internal teams and customers.Track and report changes to security controls and requirements standards across the region.Manage tight deadlines and drive for results with high attention to detail; prepare project plans and track projects through fruition.Support metrics, implement data collection mechanisms, analyze data and make recommendations.Ensure eligibility for Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance where required.Basic Qualifications10+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, banking or non-banking supervision and examination, or government agencies involved in cybersecurity management and/or operations.Experience in security assurance activities such as cybersecurity, audit or security architecture.Experience in program design and management.Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cyber Security, IT Security Management, or related field.Familiarity with cloud computing, technology risks, security and outsourcing.Preferred QualificationsExperience working on governance, risk and compliance programs with direct regulator engagement.Technical acumen in software engineering, security engineering, or cloud architecture; experience leveraging AI to improve productivity.Experience with cloud migrations focusing on security risk assessment or architectural considerations.Experience with sensitive or classified government systems.Understanding of privacy, security and resilience requirements across regulated sectors of government, financial services and national critical infrastructure.About The TeamAWS Security values diverse experiences.
