About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate to join our senior and well-regarded Resources & Energy equity research team at Platinum Pacific Partners. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Resources & Energy in covering the bulks and various energy names within the Resources sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform valuations that underpin stock recommendations through analysis, financial modelling, and company/industry insights.
  • Prepare presentations and marketing materials for various stakeholders, including external fund manager clients and the internal Institutional Research sales and trading team.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, valuation databases for stocks under primary coverage, and support the writing of investment product, including company, sector, and thematic reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or above in business, commerce, or a mining technical related discipline (such as geology or engineering), preferably with a finance and/or accounting specialisation.
  • 3-8 years' experience as a research associate/analyst or alternatively a relevant industry discipline.
  • CFA or MBA an advantage, but not essential.
  • Strong analytical, Excel, and financial modelling skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal sensitivity, excellent communication, relationship, and management skills.
