About the Role

We are seeking an Aboriginal Field Officer to join our team in Newcastle. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing legal information and assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients
  • Assisting solicitors and administrative staff to develop and implement outreach services and community legal education programs
  • Building relationships with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of the legal system and its impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Be willing to undergo a Criminal Record Check
  • Have a current Working with Children Check
  • Have a valid Driver's Licence
