About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HR Business Partner to join our team at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. As a key member of our HR team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic HR support to our business units across various agencies within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level strategic support to managers at all levels, including advice on HR best practices, change management, and organizational design.
  • Lead HR initiatives that align with our strategic objectives, including diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism initiatives, operational and strategic workforce planning, and performance development.
  • Manage complex HR issues, including grievances, underperformance, and unsatisfactory performance.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that drive continuous improvement and support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex cases and ensure the best outcome is achieved.
Requirements
  • Qualifications in HR or a related discipline, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a HR partnering role, preferably within the public sector or large, complex organizations.
  • Strategic HR experience, including experience developing and implementing HR strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to develop strong partnering relationships with all levels of management.
  • Change management and organizational design experience.
  • Management experience and/or a willingness to lead, develop, coach, and provide ongoing support to direct reports and clients.
  • A people-centric approach to complex case management.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • A collaborative style who can work with a range of stakeholders from different areas of the organization.
  • Demonstrable understanding of legislative requirements and employee and industrial relations.
  • HR systems experience, with the ability to research and analyze information to make recommendations.
