Job Title: Purchasing Strategist

The ideal candidate will lead strategic procurement activities, managing supplier relationships and driving sourcing strategies that align with commercial and operational objectives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire procure-to-pay process, ensuring seamless execution and on-time delivery of goods and services.
  • Develop and execute category management plans, mitigate supply chain risks, and foster collaborative partnerships across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead contract negotiations, RFQ/RFI/RFT processes, and supplier performance management.
  • Ensure engagements deliver value, compliance, and innovation.

Requirements:
  • Australian Citizenship with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Proven commercial acumen and negotiator, with thorough understanding of category management, supply chain mechanisms, and risk assessment.
  • Proven supply base management and strategic sourcing skills in a highly complex and regulated environment.
  • Technical, procurement or commercial knowledge of assets, goods, and services applicable to maintenance, repairs, or overhauls of equipment.
  • Practitioner of procurement policies, processes, and procedures related to category management.
