Education Advocate for Indigenous Student Success

Our school seeks a dedicated Support Officer to assist with the educational and cultural needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. This vital role involves working closely with teachers, parents, and community members to deliver programs and services that promote student engagement, achievement, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement culturally relevant education programs in collaboration with the community and school staff.
- Provide guidance on culturally responsive teaching practices and support teachers in implementing the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework.
- Mentor and offer pastoral care to students at risk, focusing on their general health and well-being.
- Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or possess a valid visa with relevant work rights.
- Hold a valid Working With Children Check before commencing.
- Obtain a current Screening Clearance Number from the Department of Education's Screening Unit prior to starting.
Aboriginality is considered an essential requirement for this position under section 50(d) of the Western Australian Equal Opportunity Act.
