Job Description:
A highly regarded mining and exploration company is seeking a skilled Payroll Administrator to manage their full-function payroll for all staff.
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for an experienced professional looking to step into a key standalone role within a dynamic business.
About the Role:
- Process and manage accurate payroll records, reports, and reconciliations for approximately 170 employees
- Ensure compliance with relevant awards, enterprise agreements, tax, and superannuation obligations
- Handle employee queries regarding payroll, entitlements, and deductions
- Coordinate with internal departments for onboarding, offboarding, and leave management
- Liaise with external bodies (e.g., ATO, super funds) as required
- Generate timely payroll reports for internal stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
- Work independently and accurately with high attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Confidentially handle sensitive information
- Operate in a standalone capacity with minimal supervision
Requirements:
- Prior experience in end-to-end payroll processing
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, tax, and superannuation
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience using ELMO software
- Previous experience within the mining or resources sector
