Job Description

At Nectar, we are expanding our team to drive growth and innovation in the commercial real estate lending space. As a Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer, you will play a crucial role in originating and closing mezzanine debt and preferred equity transactions with experienced commercial-real-estate owners.

Nectar plugs liquidity gaps for property owners by making investments in stabilized, cash-flowing assets. We aim to close deals efficiently, leveraging our AI-powered underwriting capabilities and process automation. Our originators are key to driving our deal engine forward, and we invest heavily in their development.

This role offers a unique opportunity to own a material slice of originations, contributing to pricing, product tweaks, and go-to-market strategy alongside the CEO. You will have the autonomy to drive growth, expand the referral network, and partner with marketing to test campaigns and craft collateral.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience generating and closing CRE debt or equity (mezz/pref/bridge/agency experience welcome)
  • Documented hunter with a track record of sourcing $50 MM+ in the last 24 months and maintaining a clean CRM
  • Fluency in DSCR, CLTV, NOI drivers, and ability to structure around them
  • Rolodex of active sponsors, mortgage bankers, and capital advisors nationwide
  • Startup or high-growth DNA, with the ability to iterate fast, embrace ambiguity, and default to action

Additionally, you will be willing to travel (~25%) for site walks, closings, and industry conferences.
