About the Role

CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Safer Pathways Specialist Worker to join our team. As part of our Safer Pathway Program, you will play a critical role in providing support to male victim-survivors of domestic and family violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to referrals and build trust with participants using a person-centred approach.
  • Triage referrals and provide case coordination and/or case management.
  • Deliver high-quality case coordination and case management, working with participants in a capacity-building approach.
  • Provide holistic assessments, case planning, and trauma-informed casework to develop strengths-based safety plans.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure effective service referral pathways.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and practice guides, as well as manage data and reports.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or Diploma with 2+ years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and engaging men.
  • Knowledge of current Child Protection, Crimes (Domestic and Personal Violence) Act 2007, and other relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice response to domestic violence.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work effectively with Police, Courts, SAMS meetings, DCJ, Justice, Women's Domestic Violence Court Assistant Scheme, and interpreter services.
  • High level of understanding around primary aggressor and coercive control.
  • Strong networking and advocacy skills, case planning, and note-taking.
