The Counselling Services Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students. This position oversees the counselling services provided to students, manages a team of counsellors, and collaborates with other departments to create a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage student wellbeing strategies and programs through a team of qualified counsellors.
- Drive cultural change by developing positive relationships and networks within and external to the Institute.
- Provide authoritative mental health information, advice, and direction to stakeholders.
- Structure the operations of the counselling team to support the achievement of Institute objectives and report on agreed targets.
The ideal candidate will have post-graduate qualifications in psychology or counselling, or a related mental health discipline. They must be fully registered with AHPRA, AASW, or ACA, and currently working towards or registered as a Clinical Supervisor.
- Strong background in delivering professional counselling support, particularly within student settings.
- Demonstrated success in leading mental health initiatives and student counselling programs.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise under pressure.
