About the Role

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission is seeking a highly skilled Director, Case Management to lead the establishment and management of a new team responsible for employee-related cases. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing technology, policies, and processes to support effective case management and stakeholder engagement.

The Director, Case Management will oversee the management of complex cases, including compensation and investigations, and provide guidance to team members as needed. The role requires a high level of leadership and change management skills, as well as the ability to foster a positive and supportive team culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a new Case Management team and uplift the Commission's case management approach.
  • Solve complex employee-related cases, taking a risk-based approach and considering reputational, regulatory, and legal consequences.
  • Oversee and guide internal and external investigations, including reviewing the holistic employee complaint portfolio and reporting on trends, behaviors of concern, and risk.
  • Manage complex workplace grievances or complaints by undertaking high-quality, timely, and independent investigations into employee misconduct and behavior, ensuring procedural fairness and natural justice.
  • Oversee and guide the delivery of end-to-end health/rehabilitation case management activities for injured or ill employees, including compensation claims and non-compensation cases.
  • Manage and mentor a team of rehabilitation case managers, performance case managers, and investigators to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Contribute to the provision of advice to Commission leadership and effective management of employee-related issues.
  • Regularly review the quality standards and effectiveness of case management processes and resources.
  • Sustain effective positive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.

What We Offer

The successful candidate will be offered a salary between $136,307 - $161,381 per annum, depending on skills and experience. This is a non-ongoing opportunity, and only candidates who hold Australian citizenship can apply.
