Director People and Culture

The Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead the People and Culture Directorate.

This senior role will be responsible for fostering a positive, inclusive, and dynamic workplace environment, leading the strategic direction of the People and Culture Directorate, and steering strategic people initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing and delivering strategic people management services, with substantial knowledge of current trends and issues in workforce management.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing people-centric enabling strategies in the department's Strategic Plan.
  • Leading the identification, development, and implementation of cultural leadership, HR strategy and planning, employee engagement and well-being, work design, legal compliance and risk management, employee relations, diversity, equity and inclusion, training and development, and data and analytics initiatives.
  • Establishing and maintaining stakeholder relationships, and communicating effectively with key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have well-developed leadership skills, a superior ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships, and exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
