Role Overview

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled economist to join our team as Senior Economist and Assistant Director. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of our organization and make a significant impact on public policy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Address challenges in the care economy and human services markets by working collaboratively with a team of professionals.
  • Engage in theoretical and practical policy considerations regarding the current and future states of agency-supported markets.
  • Apply statistical and economic modeling and research methods to understand market functioning and propose improvements.
  • Design pilot studies to address information asymmetries and market failures by filling information gaps and testing new solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams and departments, and with experts and academics, to build shared understanding.
  • Make a significant impact on resource allocation, which is projected to grow.

Requirements:
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills applied to complex economic issues and practical solutions.
  • Structured thinking about quantitative and qualitative problems, and the development of analytical frameworks.
  • Quantitative skills to handle and analyze data.
  • Able to simplify technical information into clear narratives and plain English advice suitable for non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently.
  • Strong stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Interest in economic challenges of the care economy.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and motivation to improve the organization.
